Human Resources

The training centre started in 2010 with staff strength of one Section Officer and two Assistants, under the guidance of Under Secretary and Additional Secretary.  We had arranged 32 batches, accommodating 613 persons for the training programmes.

During 2015-16, the officers connected with Centre for Training in Financial Management were re-designated as Director (Additional Secretary / Joint Secretary), Joint Director (Deputy Secretary / Under Secretary), Deputy Director (Accounts Officer / Section Officer), Course Co-ordinator (Assistant), for academic convenience, vide G.O (Ms) No. 473/2015/Fin dated 20.10.2015.  During 2017-18, CTFM had started a help desk for our officers, especially working outside Secretariat.  The translation of study materials to Malayalam also started.  The two computer assistants attached to the institute were de-designated as Public Relations Officer and Campus Officer vide Office Order No. Office Order No. 326/2017/Fin dated 03.07.2017 and assigned duties which are self-explanatory.

Library

Centre for Training in Financial Management has a well-equipped library with books on financial management, linguistics, information technology etc with print editions and e-editions of books. Earlier editions of codes and manuals of Kerala and erstwhile Travancore state, Madras state etc adds value to our collection. We have the online library, which can be accessed free at our website.

Infrastructure

Building

CTFM is now housed at the DPC Building owned by Finance Department, which is inside Kerala University Office Campus, Palayam, Thiruvananthapuram.  The DPC building was built by Government during 1980s to house the first ever computer system procured by the Government.  In the initial years the system was operated with the assistance of the experts of the computer centre of University of Kerala.  Now, the three storied building houses CTFM.

 

Lecture Halls

C T FM has two air-conditioned lecture halls, each with 40-45 person capacity each, fully equipped with facilities for audio / video presentation.

Computer Labs

One well equipped computer lab of 20 seat capacity with 1:1 ratio for student and computer and facilities for audio / video presentations.  We have a well structured LAN with high speed internet connection for providing online practices for major software applications of Government of Kerala

Mini Conference Hall for group discussions and conferences

Mini Conference Hall with 10-12 persons seating capacity, which is ideal for group discussions and small conferences is available.  We use this facility for discussions regarding new course design, periodic evaluation of training programmes etc.

Cafeteria

Our specious cafeteriahas the facility to provide, lunch and light refreshments with a seating capacity of 70 persons.  It is equipped with special serving counters, ceramic serving plates etc…

Teaching Aids

All our lecture halls and computer lab are well equipped with audio visual teaching aids such as the public addressing systems, video cameras, overhead projectors, audio recorders etc.  We have a collection of instructional video films for helping the trainees both as tutorials as well as references.

Reprographic aids

Centre for Training in Financial Management prepares and delivers the course materials using its own reprographic facilities.  Our team will prepare the materials using our own reprographic facilities.  Course materials are prepared for each batch taking into account of the new updates and the entry behavior of the participants.
